Eddie Blevins Mandolin Works

Today, I’d like to give a shout out to my dad and his new business. As I said in one of my previous posts, he has been playing the mandolin since I was born and is partly responsible for my interest in music and bluegrass in particular.

Here’s the link to his website, where he posts his inventory available and pictures of the entire building process. Take a look and let me know what you think! It’s pretty cool!

Where Words Fail, Music Speaks

Image

“Music expresses that which cannot be said and on which it is impossible to be silent. – Victor Hugo

Music was destined to find me…I don’t have a single childhood memory that does not contain even a little musical aspect. My dad had always been a bluegrass nut but my classically trained pianist of a mother would not let her child grow up without being musically well-rounded. However, mom lost the battle when I started playing fiddle at 12 years old.

I am so blessed to have been part of a gospel bluegrass band, Narrow Road, for 8 years now. It is difficult for any musician to describe quite what music means to them and I find myself in the same position now. Let’s just say, I would not be where I am today, where it not for music.
